My First Year Anniversary As A Momma

True to what most people have told me, babies and children do grow up pretty fast! Today, I cannot help but look at my 1-year-old son and wonder how I did everything that I have done as a mother in a span of one year.

Have I done OK? Good? Is it enough? Have I been the best Momma to my little man in his 1st year here on earth?

It is hard to analyze. But right now, (and I think as always I will be) I am overwhelmed and filled with joy. So I am writing a letter to my dearest first born just for me to somehow express these emotions I have been trying to contain. I am just way more than happy to be my son’s mom.

To My Dearest Little Man:

Hello there my Gabriel Zidane. My first born. My lovely little man.

Today is such a special day for the both of us. A year ago, we met each other for the first time.

We had our unang yakap (first hug) – your first latch, our first touch. Though it’s been a year that has passed by, the memory of seeing you for the first time even if I am not wearing contact lenses at the time I’ve given birth to you, is still vivid in my memory.

They laid you above my stomach, trying to make you cry. I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to touch you but I feel like I was caught off guard, seeing you for the very first time made me feel like I was a baby too. Like I do not know anything in this world. Like I was a robot that has been reset.

I saw your eyes, even shut closed, I knew in an instant that you are your father’s son.

The nurses have told me:

Go on, Mommy. Hug him. Touch him.

And so I did.

That was the most surreal thing in my whole life.

You are my dream come true, Gabriel. Most people do not know that your Momma’s deepest desire is to be a Mom. I know deep in my heart that I want to be a Mom. I prayed hard… And you are my answered prayer. The Amazing Grace of the Lord sent you unto us.

I pray that God will bless us the wisdom for us to be the wise parent to you at all times. We’re not perfect but please know that we are striving to be the best that we could ever be and that we will never run out of love for you.

I also pray to God, that as you grow up, you’ll be loving, humble and God-fearing. I pray that you’ll always be safe and healthy and most of all… I desire that you grow up to be a happy kid.

As common to almost all the parents as it may seem, but you truly have changed our lives. Most especially mine. And I will forever be grateful to the Lord for giving you to us. We have been blessed with more than what we even deserve.

We love you so much, son! Momma loves you so much!

Lots of hugs and kisses!

A Mother’s Day Treat at Pink Blossoms Nail Boutique

I cannot remember the last time I had gone to a nail salon for some foot spa, manicure, and pedicure. When I was still single, I always pamper myself at least once a month. Sometimes, it was me who do my own manicure/pedicure. But now that I am a momma, I cannot even maintain my own nails. Even going to a nail salon is a big chore. I’d rather Be spending my spare time sleeping in the bed rather than exerting more effort going to the nail salon. But spare time for a momma like me is even unlikely. Lol.

Good thing, we’re on a vacation at my parents’ house because my Mother-in-law is currently in Leyte and will not be able to take care of Gabriel at the moment. I am somehow getting good enough rest because our relatives are there to take care of my son even for an hour. I am finally having 30-minutes of bath!! Yay!!! And also, I got the chance to go on a Nail Salon once again.

Last Saturday, my sister and I have decided to give our Mother some pampering time as our Pre-Mother’s Day treat for her (and to myself as well). Since I don’t want to be away from our house in Las Piñas for too long, I searched for nail salon around BF Resort Village only and saw the nearest one is the Pink Blossoms Nail Boutique. I got their contact details from their Facebook Page and called them right away to inquire. We’re lucky that we’re able to book an appointment at 7:45 PM for the three of us!

When we arrive in the place, I can sense our Mother’s excitement because just like me, she rarely has time for activities like this. The two staff of Pink Blossoms, Ate Alma and Ate Weng, were very welcoming and friendly. They assisted us right away and offered us the foot spa package + manicure and pedicure with imported nail polish for 500 Php. The place’s area is relatively small and I think it can only accommodate up to 6-8 people max. I based it on the number of the chairs inside the salon.

I must say that the theme of Pink Blossoms Nail Boutique is very kawaii!! I love how modernized it is. It feels like home to me because of how light the color of the walls are and the place’s decorations are dainty. I just noticed that the chairs, though really very cute, is not as cozy as I expected it to be. Most nail salons I’ve visited have chairs which are slightly inclined to the back so the customers can lay theirs back comfortably. But other than that, everything’s perfect. 🙂

Ate Weng was the one who did my foot spa and manicure/pedicure. She did it as gentle as possible. To think that we arrived in the evening and they are most probably tired already. I experienced painful nail cleaning with some manicurists before whenever I avail their services on a later time of the day. I understand that they are most probably tired already. But with Ate Weng, I didn’t feel any pain as she scubbed my foot and cleaned my nails. I commend her for that.

Our experience with Pink Blossoms Nail Boutique was very relaxing. In fact, if only I am still living in Las Piñas, it would be my go-to nail salon from now on. Too bad, we’ll be going home to Parañaque in the days to come. But I told my sister that if she ever have any plans on treating our Mother to a pampering nail session, they should give Pink Blossoms a call for an appointment and head to their place instead of waiting in line at the nail salons at the shopping malls which are crowded for most of the weekends.

When we arrived in Pink Blossoms, we were the only customers, because we were able to set an appointment beforehand. 😉

What I liked about Pink Blossoms:

  • Friendly and accommodating staff
  • Clean place
  • The dainty-kawaii theme is very much fascinating
  • Professional handling of customers
  • The price is reasonable – their staff gave us professional service without feeling any pain during the manicure/pedicure sessions

What I don’t like:

  • The chairs aren’t as comfortable and relaxing as I expected it to be

If you are looking for a nail salon in Las Piñas, I highly recommend Pink Blossoms Nail Boutique in BF Resort Village. It is best if you’ll set an appointment with them first just like what we did. So that you will know if there will be an available nail stylist for you.

You may contact them at (02) 738 8575 or visit their Facebook page by clicking here.

Belated Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful and beautiful Moms around the world! 🙂

Live. Laugh. Laugh. Pray.
